So one of the things that we would like to do in the future is boondocking or camping outside of established campgrounds using the trailers resources: propane, battery and stored water. On our first trip we used shore power (were plugged into an outlet), propane and an external water supply. I have a generator and the trailer will carry about 42 gallons of water. In a forty-eight hour period I had to drain our grey water (drain water excluding the toilet water) twice. That will not work and we will have to change our habits. One place we used water was ensuring that the hot water heater was filled before we turned it on. We could check that while filling the fresh water tank using a bucket or the external shower. We also probably let the water run while doing the dishes rather than filling the two sinks for a wash and rinse. The shower is another large user of water and we will have to learn to rinse faster and use less water overall. We will be updating our strategy for the next trip and we will let you know how it goes.
