Some stuff you are going to have to buy. Almost none of us have a waste drain hose sitting around, the same with a hose that is safe to drink from. You might have a hose for cleaning (the sewer system) you just want to make sure it is easily distinguishable from your potable (drinking) water hose. You will also need to buy treatment for your black water tank, these treatment products look similar to a tide pod (but please don’t eat them) and you just drop one into your tank through the toilet to help break down solids and toilet paper. Speaking of toilet paper….you have a portable out house that you have to dump out not someone else. You absolutely want to leave the Charmin at home!!! You will need special RV toilet paper unless you want to learn how to unclog a trailer toilet system.
My trailer didn’t come with a ladder attached which really bummed me out at first, but I’m kind of glad now because it keeps me off the roof which causes wear and tear. But since I didn’t have a ladder I needed one to go with the trailer. If you don’t have slide outs then you can probably do without a ladder, but before I retract my slides I want to sweep them off to keep debris from collecting and damaging my seals. Don’t be cheap on any ladder that you buy, it’s your well being at stake if you are using a lower quality ladder. I went for a Gorilla folding ladder with a 1AA rating, that means it can hold up to 375 pounds. I like that I can use this as an extension or folding ladder. This ladder can also be used by two of us at once.
Tools. You will need some tools but not your whole mechanics rolling chest! I put together a small kit with a torque wrench for the wheels, a wrench for the distribution hitch, a hammer, some pliers, and a screw driver that includes Robertson (square) tips.
